Set high in the magnificent Savoie Alps, Tignes offers some of the best skiing in Europe with guaranteed snow all year. We have accommodation in the 3 best villages; Val Claret, Le Lavachet and Tignes-le-Lac. Val Claret, the highest, offers the best access to the skiing. It has a number of shops, supermarkets and many restaurants and bistros. Le Lavachet with connections into Val d'Isère, offers a variety of cafés/restaurants and a free bus service to Tignes-le-Lac (operating day and night). The lively Tignes-le-Lac is the hub of the resort with runs leading directly back into its centre. There is a twice weekly market here, shops, bars and restaurants and an ultra-modern sports centre.

Tignes Piste

Apres Ski in Tignes

The main nightlife of Courchevel happens in 1850, however 1650 also has some very good après ski bars. 1550 and 1300 are pretty very quiet so and has a slightly more relaxed atmosphere so are more suited to family groups. Courchevel offers something for everyone.

From a party night to a quiet apres ski drink or a quality meal, we've selected our favourite places to go (below) and have divided them into two sections: bars and restaurants. Enjoy!

Couloir Bar

Right on the snow, Couloir is THE place to go after a long day on the slopes. Serving a large selection of beers and wines, not to mention a wide range of whiskies and over 50 different flavoured vodkas, be careful not to get carried away... If you miss dinner at the chalet, you can always nip upstairs to the fantastic restaurant!

Saloon

The Saloon bars in Val d’Isere and Val Thorens have proven to be very popular, and the recently-opened branch in Val Claret has continued the trend. Filling bar food, drinks offers and lively nights draw in the crowds every night of the week.

Grizzly's Bar

A lovely, ornate bar- you must try it out once. You can ski right back to it and warm up by the fire pits outside. Expect good drinks, excellent food and welcoming staff. Just bear in mind that you’ll pay for the privilege - it does not come cheap!

Loop Bar

Telephone:+33 (0)4 79 06 30 61

The Loop is a fantastic venue for après-ski with the best of both worlds, a sun-drenched terrace with a great view over the lake towards the Grande Motte, and a large bar with big sofas and a log fire. These attributes added to a brilliant chef make this an ideal lunch stop, the menu has a British feel with crispy duck pancakes, Thai curry and a great Caesar salad, plus the best burgers in the Espace Killy! At night the bar is exceedingly popular with seasonaires and holidaymakers alike, all enjoying its friendly atmosphere to great tunes and expertly made drinks. Only bar in Tignes with no TV so conversation is guaranteed. The theme parties here are legendary and so are their delicious flavoured vodkas. Music: Great tunes Price: Reasonable Food: Pub Grub, Crispy Duck, Thai curry and great Salads Opening Hours: 11am - 2am Happy Hour: 4pm - 6pm

Jack's Club

If you’re looking to dance the night away to cheesy music, look no further! Open until 4am, you can expect a lot of fun, a few too many shooters and a sore head the next day.

TC's Bar

Long established in Le Lavachet, TCs Bar regularly hosts themed nights and lively parties that run into the small hours. It’s also open throughout the day and serves sensibly priced grub that will keep you riding long into the afternoon. That’s if you can resist the Mützig...

So Bar

For the more discerning customer. Opened in 2011, So Bar has certainly filled a gap in the market – the owners pride themselves on offering high quality produce at fair prices. With an excellent selection of wines, JP (a trained sommelier) will gladly share his expertise to ensure a great evening is had by all.

Alpaka

Website: click here

Relax on the cosy sofas by the fire with a glass of wine, or try one of their infamous cocktails! Watch out for ‘Shot Night’ and ‘Champagne Night’. The Alpaka sits in the heart of Tignes Le Lac and is a firm favourite with seasonnaires, holidaymakers and locals alike.

Caves du Lac

Le Lac’s other late night venue, and takes itself a little more seriously than Jack’s Club! Playing drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep and techno, it never fails to disappoint. When Loop Bar shuts, the crowds filter into the Caves du Lac and the fun continues!

Scotty's Bar

A favourite of British seasonnaires, Scotty’s is always great fun. Friendly staff, fancy dress nights, drinks offers and even an outdoor pool – what more could you want? It sits right by the bus stop in Le Lavachet, so getting back to Le Lac or Val Claret at the end of the night is a piece of cake.

Drop Zone

Right at the foot of the slopes, it’s hard not to be drawn in at happy hour – especially when there are pool tables and great music waiting for you inside. Just don’t challenge the locals to a game of table football – you’ll lose.

Blue Girl

One of Val Claret's two nightclubs. It's very French, stays open until 4am, but is the best option if you want the fun to continue after the other bars close! Be careful which night you choose to visit; Blue Girl sometimes has 'dance' performances.
